We will implement a five themed strategy to grow, invest, and fund the business of ABA YLD. Because it ALL makes C.E.N.T.$:
To Be CHARISMATIC! To ENRICH the Division; To NEGOTIATE for the Young Lawyer; To be TRANSPARENT to all and have the SKILLS to execute the plan.
01
CHARISMATIC
Talking about money is not the easiest thing to do. But in this role, I will inspire the people to help fund the Division. Work with everyone with a smile and devote a level of charm to every interaction and relationship we create to shape the future. It is essential that collaboration and partnerships are established for the financial stability of the Division and the young lawyer.
02
ENRICH
Improving and advancing the quality of the division. Putting us in a place where we are not just not financially rich, but sustainably wealthy. It is important to invest our funds prudently and wisely to ensure that we are engaging our members to get the best value for their membership. My goal is to foster an environment that enhances financial resources that support conference attendance, innovative programming, and inclusive membership.
03
NEGOTIATE
As lawyers, we all have a knack for negotiation. Negotiate good and fair rates. Negotiate wiser spending. Negotiate and stand for YLD voices. Negotiate better budgeting that will bring value to ABA YLD membership. My oral advocacy skills allow me to identify shared goals, bridge differences, and foster collaboration to meet the vision and strategic objectives of the ABA YLD. For any challenges, I have the ability to implement creative and ethical solutions to achieve successful results.
04
TRANSPARENCY
It is critical for there to be transparency when it comes to the ABA YLD’s finances that we are transparent in the spending and allocation of our funds. By creating, monitoring, and adjusting the budget to meet the ABA YLD goals, we will be able to maximize reformed and minimize waste in regards to Programming, Conferences, Membership Fee benefits, , Reimbursement, etc. I desire to regularly solicit feedback on the needs of the Division and how I can better serve the Division, if elected. Additionally, it is important for me to provide regular financial updates, breakdown of expenditures and continuously align the financials with the goals of the ABA YLD.
05
SKILLS
As a Finance major, I understand the importance of budgeting, predictive planning, time value of money, and investment of funds. My skills as an auditor from numerous organizations, financial secretary skills, working in conjunction and tandem with treasurers, and as a treasurer in several organizations. I have orchestrated and led fundraising committees and efforts. I have created numerous budgets for programming and multi-six-figure budgets. My skills enable me to make informed decisions on long term financial planning to safeguard the future and the ABA YLD’s financial stability.
