Ashley Weathers
Ashley Weathers is an Assistant Attorney General for the North Carolina Department of Justice. She is admitted to practice in New York, Northern District of New York and North Carolina. Ashley has served as an Appeals Referee, Small Claims Arbitrator, Mediator and a legal services attorney. She has legal experience in securities, consumer, employment, housing and foreclosure, public benefits, torts and other civil legal issues. During her time in law school, she clerked for the Honorable Judge Therese Wiley Dancks for the Northern District of New York.
She is a member of a few bar associations and serves in several positions. She is the ABA-YLD Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Projects; AGDJ Co-Chair; and NBA-YLD Secretary. She is a member of the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, the business honors fraternity Sigma Iota Epsilon and the historic Black Greek letter organization of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She volunteers for several non-profits and national organizations in the local community. She loves to crunch numbers and helps out family and friends with budgeting, fundraising, investment and tax advice. She received her undergraduate degrees in Business Finance and Business Management from the University of Georgia and her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. In her spare time, she loves to read, write, paint and play tennis with her niece and especially enjoys time with her family.
